Measuring Your Dog

Measuring DO's and DON'ts
DO be sure that the dog is standing straight for measuring. We understand dogs are hyper and wiggly and difficult to measure. When in doubt, measure not once or twice, but 3 times to ensure your measurements have not been affected by the wiggles
DO measure with a flexible/sewing measuring tape.
DO make sure Point B is the same for measuring A-B and B-C. The easiest way to do this is to measure both in one go by measuring A-B, hold tape and note measurement then continue on to B-C without lifting the tape, then subtract A-B from the total. Example: Point A starts at 0, Point B is at 12"and Point C is at 33". So A-B =12" and B-C =21"
DON'T take measurements with string or yarn that has any stretch as this will give inaccurate measurements.
DON'T take loose measurements on top of the fur of fluffy dogs. It is like taking your own measurements on top of your parka. Flatten the fur as much as possible, or measure under the fur if you can.
Specifications: For extra clarity, please include the breed and weight of your dog. This can help us judge whether measurements/harness type are correct.
Point A : the top of the breastbone. To find the breastbone, run your hand from your dog's collar down to the bump/bone that protrudes on their chest. This is the breastbone.
Point B: behind the head, right between the shoulder blades. For fluffy dogs, stick your fingers into their undercoat until you feel the dip between the top of the shoulder blades.
Point C is the base of the tail. For fluffy dogs, feel where the tail begins to separate from the body.
Point D is on the side of the dog, just behind the rib cage.
To ensure a proper fit, these four points should be measured and sent in with your order.

Approximate harness sizes based on average husky weights. If your dog is a very muscular breed (most pitbull types, some hound breeds etc.) these estimates may not match your dog. Please email us with photos/breed description so we can help you pick the correct size.
