About
The Start
Tanzilla Harness Supply was started in Quesnel, BC in the early 70's by another name. In the late 70's it was sold and moved to Ft. Nelson, where it was renamed with its current name after the Tanzilla River outside of Dease Lake. In the early 80's new ownership moved it up to Whitehorse, Yukon where is is still operated today.
The Process
Every piece we make is designed for real use in real conditions. We build with durability first, choosing materials and construction methods that stand up to cold, moisture, and constant strain. Nothing is rushed, nothing is decorative for decoration’s sake—each detail exists because it earns its place.
Craftsmanship
Our products are built by people who understand sled dogs, northern travel, and hard miles. Stitching, fit, and balance all matter when dogs are working day after day. That’s why our gear is made to last, repaired when possible, and trusted by mushers who depend on it season after season.
The Next Chapter
Now based in Whitehorse, Yukon, Tanzilla continues to evolve while staying rooted in its origins. We’re carrying decades of knowledge forward—refining designs, supporting modern teams, and honouring the traditions that shaped this craft. Same purpose. Same standards. Built for what’s ahead.
